Requirements Of Documents For Portugal Visa:

The documents for the Portugal Visa application are as follows:

  • A valid passport. After leaving Portugal or the Schengen Area, it must be valid for at least 3 more months.

  • Passport-size photographs, as required by Portugal.
  • They must have been taken recently.

  • A signed employment contract in the case of regular employment, or a certificate of incorporation or equivalent in the case of self-employment or business ownership.

  • If student: A certificate of enrollment from your university or school.
  • If you are retired: Your pension certificate.
  • Requirements for minors travelling alone:
  • Minor’s birth certificate
  • A photocopy of a valid passport belonging to a parent or legal guardian.
  • Parental or legal guardian consent form
  • Invitation letter from a relative or close friend.

  • All your documents must be in English language or Portuguese. If they are not, you must have all documents translated by a certified translator.
  • Civil documents, such as birth certificates, must be legal and have Apostille Stamp or the Portuguese Embassy.

How To Apply For A Portugal Visa?

To apply for a Portugal visa, you have to following steps to take:

  3. Please submit the papers at a Portugal Embassy, Consulate, or Visa Application Center.
  4. Pay the Visa cost for Portugal. 
  5. Allow for the processing of the visa. Depending on your circumstances, this typically takes approximately 15 days, but it could take longer.
  6. Take the visa. Depending on where and how you applied, you will receive an email about whether your application was successful, and you will be required to pick up your passport, to which the visa will be affixed.
  7. You can now travel to Portugal once you have obtained a visa. 

How Long The Portugal Visa Is Valid

With a Schengen visa, you can easily stay in Portugal for a maximum 90days. The Portugal Embassy or Consulate determines the duration of your visa. Visas are issued in the different categories as follows:

Single entry Schengen visa: With a single entry visa, you can enter only Portugal and stay there for 1 week, 2 weeks, 1 month, and so on. In this visa, you will not have permission to return after you leave. 

Multiple entry Schengen visa: with a multiple entry visa, you can enter Portugal but also n other Schengen countries several times throughout your visa validity time. The validity period of stay in the Schengen Zone is a maximum of 90 days.
